GAMES READY for 32

When the Swimming Wide Bay Committee came together to shape our future priorities, we recognised a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity we couldn’t let pass us by.

Wide Bay has long been a powerhouse for developing exceptional swimmers, coaches, and technical officials. With the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane on the horizon, we saw the chance to unite our entire swimming community and ensure everyone can play a meaningful role in this extraordinary journey.

In 2025 we’re thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Games Ready for 32’—an Accelerator Program designed to strengthen our entire swimming ecosystem. This initiative brings swimmers, coaches, and technical officials together in a shared journey to prepare for the excitement and opportunities of the 2032 Olympics. Whether you’re training to compete or simply inspired to be part of the Olympic movement, this program is your invitation to join us.

As part of this initiative, Swimming Wide Bay recognises its vital grassroots role in nurturing talent and providing a strong foundation for swimmers, coaches, and technical officials as they progress on their journey through to Swimming Queensland and Swimming Australia. We are committed to being a crucial link in the development pathway, ensuring our community has the support, resources, and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential.

We acknowledge that this program marks the beginning of our journey and serves as a statement of intent. Over the coming months, we look forward to collaborating and co-designing the program with our valued stakeholders, ensuring it reflects the needs and aspirations of our entire swimming community.

‘Games Ready for 32’ is built around three cornerstone initiatives, each designed to empower a vital part of our swimming community.

Swimming Wide Bay 24 for 32

An elite development program targeting our region’s top swimmers. Through activities such as targeted skills clinics, intensive training camps, and personalised mentorship, we aim to unlock their full potential and prepare them for success on the world stage—including their home Olympics in 2032.

Swimming Wide Bay Coaches for 32

An initiative designed to elevate the skills and impact of coaches across Wide Bay. Through activities such as specialized clinics and one-on-one mentorship, this program empowers our coaches to become the driving force behind their swimmers’ success.

Swimming Wide Bay Tos for 32

A dedicated development pathway for Wide Bay’s technical officials. By offering activities such as advanced training, mentorship, and opportunities for progression, this program will build a community of highly skilled officials capable of officiating at events from regional competitions to the international stage.
