The Battle of Brisbane is an exciting development and competition opportunity for our talented 9-12 years (15 and Under for Multi-Class).
Designed to provide a next-level experience in junior development, the Battle of Brisbane replaces the former Patron Shield event, bringing a fresh and dynamic approach to competition. This event showcases some of the best young swimming talent from across the Brisbane region, going head-to-head with Wide Bay’s finest in an action-packed day of racing.
The program includes a thrilling mix of individual and medley relay events, with teams competing for the coveted Battle of Brisbane Trophy. Beyond the pool, parents are invited to attend a special session covering topics like activation and nutrition, supporting the development of our rising stars.
We’re excited to offer this pathway event packed with fun, fierce competition, and a strong sense of community.
Individual and Relay Swimmers are selected based on Short Course performance times during a qualifying period 1 May 2025 and 9 August 2026.
Relays are formed from the fastest combinations in each age group. Those selected will receive event information directly via email, and details will also be shared with clubs and coaches.
Team selections are based on qualifying times and swimmer availability. Swimmers will be notified of their selection following the Hancock Prospecting Queensland Short Course Championships. If a selected swimmer cannot attend, the opportunity is offered to the next eligible swimmer based on performance.
Team List Disclaimer: The Swimming Wide Bay Battle of Brisbane Team is selected several weeks prior to the event. As with any team event, late withdrawals and changes in availability can occur, particularly in the final days. To ensure the Team List is as accurate as possible, it is published at the earliest practical opportunity once any late changes have been confirmed. The published Team List may still differ from the team that competes on the day due to further withdrawals.
No experience is needed; we provide all the necessary training and guidance to get started. Whether you’re a parent, a former swimmer, or simply a fan of the sport, joining our team of technical officials is a rewarding way to contribute to the swimming community and make a real difference!
