About Us

Our Vision

Empowering our region’s clubs to inspire swimmers, nurture their passion for the sport, and create pathways for success at regional, state, and national levels.

Our Mission

Our mission is to nurture and enhance participation and performance in swimming throughout our region.

We are dedicated to empowering our local clubs, providing them with the support and resources necessary to host competitive meets year-round. Our commitment extends to developing swimmers through targeted training clinics, events, and championships that pave the way for their success at regional, state, and national levels.

Additionally, we prioritise the growth of our coaches and officials by offering training and resources, ensuring they have the expertise to foster a vibrant and engaged swimming community. Together, we inspire swimmers to cultivate their passion for the sport, unlocking their full potential and shaping the future of swimming in the Wide Bay Region.

Our Objectives

Provide guidance and resources to our local clubs, enabling them to effectively plan, organize, and execute competitive meets throughout the year. This includes hosting workshops and providing templates and best practices to streamline the competition experience.
Establish a robust framework of championships, training clinics, and events designed to identify and nurture promising swimmers. We aim to create annual schedules that maximize participation and performance opportunities, ensuring swimmers are well-prepared for success at regional, state, and national levels.
Actively engage and develop our community of technical officials and coaches through ongoing training programs and mentorship opportunities. We will facilitate networking events and workshops that encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration, enhancing the overall quality of our swimming community.
Strengthen our role as a liaison between Swimming QLD and our clubs, ensuring that the latest expertise, resources, and best practices are effectively communicated and implemented. We will organize information sessions and provide regular updates to keep clubs informed of new developments and opportunities.
Implement strategies to achieve and maintain a continuous level of financial sustainability. This includes developing fundraising initiatives, seeking sponsorships, and exploring grant opportunities to ensure we can provide ongoing support and resources to our swimming community, particularly in areas where needs arise.
